Burned for Ambience opened in 2016 as a small concept store with one idea: a home feels different when the air in it is considered. We chose Waks, hand-poured in Greece, because the wax is natural, the wicks are cotton, and every glass can be refilled instead of thrown away.
Over the years the shelves grew. Reed diffusers for hallways. Room sprays for the ten minutes before guests arrive. Cold-process soaps. And the charms, cross-stitched by hand with a mati at the centre, that became the bomboniera our customers come back for every wedding and christening season.
We deliver across the Republic of Cyprus, and we answer the phone.
No paraffin smoke. A clean, even burn and a scent throw that fills a room without shouting.
Original and Classic glasses take candle refills. Diffuser bottles take 200 ml and 500 ml refills.
Candles are poured in small batches. Charms are stitched one at a time. Porcelain pots are thrown by an artist.
Charms arrive boxed and wrapped. Ask us for a handwritten note at checkout.
Get all 45 hours out of it.
The first burn matters most
Let the melted wax reach the edge of the glass before you blow it out, about two hours. Wax has a memory. A short first burn leaves a tunnel that never recovers.
Trim the wick to 5 mm
Before every burn. A long wick smokes, flickers and burns through scent too fast. Pinch the tip off with your fingers once it has cooled.
Four hours, then rest
Never burn for more than four hours at a time, and keep the candle away from drafts, curtains and children.
When it is done, refill it
Leave 5 mm of wax at the bottom, let it cool, lift the core out and drop in a refill. The glass is yours for years.

How long it takes
